My story

Hi there, dear one! Thank you for coming. I’m so glad you’re here. I’d love to share with you a little background about my journey thus far. I hope you come away with an understanding of how I ended up here and if you can relate in any way, may this bring you some hope for your own journey.

I came into this earthly life in the 80s, near Chicago, Illinois. And, I have a good sense that I was immediately uncomfortable in this human body. I demonstrated significant digestive distress as a baby, which I continued to experience on and off throughout my early life. This sense of constant discomfort and unpredictability became an obsession and as I moved into my teen years, I learned many maladaptive behaviors to cope with all the overwhelming symptoms I was experiencing, always chasing comfort and relief.

I had a very loving and present mother and a dad who provided very well for us. I never wanted for anything and had an overall pleasant childhood full of friends and activities and loving family. But I was always very sensitive to the moods and emotions of everyone around me. It is evident to me now that this hypervigilance contributed greatly to my physical experience within my body. I was like an antenna, taking all that energy in but never discharging it back out.

I became the peacekeeper in my relationships, because maintaining the peace of others was necessary to feel safe. But the more I “held it together,” the more my body would express physical symptoms as a response. I learned how to suppress the symptoms in many maladaptive ways, including substances and disordered eating behaviors. I was misdiagnosed for years, chasing my tail with drugs and diets that had little effect, other than furthering my excessive dieting and need for control.

Eventually, I started to seek out various practitioners, but I wasn’t getting much support until I finally met my now husband, who brought me to his holistic chiropractor. This doctor was one of the greatest gifts of my life! He listened to me, helped me to understand the messages my body was sending and he taught me about my nervous system. He gave me space to unwind and showed me how to begin healing for real. It was then that I first started to grasp that I wasn’t inherently flawed! I just had a very dysregulated nervous system and had just been trying my best, through the only tools I had available to me. This really kicked off journey of healing and developing skills to help others. I wanted to learn all that I could, so I went to work for him and spent several years immersed in healing and education.

Later on, I moved from Illinois to Arizona, after going through a traumatic experience with a moldy home. The mold caused another healing crisis and from that experience, I learned about naturopathic care and colon hydrotherapy. Through my own experience, I discovered that colonics are like an internal massage that relax the nervous system and helped me to finally regulate my digestion! I was relieved beyond words and I was immediately passionate about helping others get the same relief I had experienced so I became certified in colon hydrotherapy! After nearly a decade of helping people with their digestion, I had developed a deeper understanding of how the mind and body are not separate, but operate as one whole. And real healing comes from integrating the conscious experience of the mind with the physical experience of the body, unwinding the tension from within. And so I started seeking out other body based (Somatic) modalities of healing. Which drove me to become certified in Somatic Coaching.

My primary passion is to learn and understand everything I can about this human existence and use that knowledge to bring even just a little peace and deeper understanding to each individual I work with. I believe that our own personal healing is our biggest contribution to humanity as a whole. I am here to help guide and witness you on your journey to discover your own healing.

Throughout my journey, I realized that I didn't really know myself very well. So I spent alot of time learning about who I am, what my own needs and joys are and how I tend to operate. I learned through studying psychology, personality systems such as the Enneagram, as well as experiencing other methods such as astrology, human design, shamanic journeys, plant medicines, therapy, breathwork and Somatics. I love all of these methods of understanding the self and I am convinced that ‘knowing thyself’ is what creates a strong foundation for each of us to achieve healing and become who we were always meant to be.

Healing comes from within — and I’m here to help you access it.
